Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar, who has claimed responsibility for the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala, has been given a Red Corner Notice by Interpol. The Punjab police said they issued a red corner notice to Goldy Brar 10 days before Moose Wala’s murder in connection with two separate cases filed against him in Faridkot. The Interpol liaison agency CBI, on the other hand, released a statement claiming that the Punjab Police had only applied for a Red Corner Notice on May 30, a day after Moose Wala’s murder.
Goldy Brar was charged with murder, attempted murder, and violating the Arms Act in two separate cases filed in November 2020 and February 2021.
The Interpol notice against him says he is accused of “Murder, criminal conspiracy and supply of illegal firearms, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy supply of illegal firearms”.
Sidhu Moose Wala, a 28-year-old singer-politician, was shot and killed by unidentified assailants in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29, a day after the Punjab government reduced his security cover.
Goldy Brar, 28, was born in Punjab’s Muktsar Sahib and moved to Canada on a student visa in 2017. He is a member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, which has been implicated as a leader in the murder case.
In a Facebook post, Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for Moose Wala’s murder, claiming that it was in retribution for the death of teenage Akali leader Vicky Middukhera last year.
The Punjab Police announced on Tuesday that it had arrested eight people in connection with the death of Moose Wala.
Lawrence Bishnoi, who is being held in Delhi’s Tihar jail, was named as the case’s mastermind on Wednesday. Bishnoi had previously denied any involvement in the murder and claimed that his gang planned and carried out the crime.
