Now creators will get paid for their content. The ‘subscription-only’ feature has been in the works for some time by Instagram. The Meta-owned photo-sharing platform ‘Instagram’ is already testing its new feature of paid subscriptions run by some of the US content creators. It will be going to add more creators to this feature soon.
The content creators who gained this subscription feature activated are only 10 U.S. based yet, including- Sedona Prince the basketball player, model Kelsey Cook, Allen Chicken Chow who is an actor influencer, Jordan Chiles who is an Olympic gymnast and also Lonnie IIV who is a digital creator by profession.
Instagram chief Adam Mosseri said in a video that was posted on microblogging platform ‘Twitter’ –“Subscriptions are for creators” and “Creators do what they do to make a living and it’s important that it is predictable”. Instagram also posted on Twitter- “With Instagram Subscriptions, creators can develop deeper connections with their most engaged followers and grow their recurring monthly income by giving subscribers access to exclusive content and benefits, all within the same platform where they interact with them already.”
The feature has monthly subscriptions for fans for exclusive content that will have Lives and Stories. For now, the subscription feature ranges from $0.99 to $99.99 per month for creators who can go with different options of subscription as per their requirement.
With Instagram, Tiktok is also on the same track to offer paid subscription features for creators, through which they can earn money.
