One out of every three cellphones sold during the holiday season will be 5G equipped, according to a survey released on Tuesday. It is estimated that smartphone manufacturers would sell about $7.7 billion (about $61,000 crore) worth of devices.
The retail ASP (average selling price), like the total value, would be the highest ever and might see an increase of 12–15% YoY, according to Research Director Tarun Pathak. Demand from consumers is probably very strong, particularly in the mid-tier and luxury segments. The companies and networks have already declared on social media the numerous promos and discounts aimed at the Rs 15,000 sectors. The offline market participants are promoting promotions and offers that are comparable to those of their online competitors in terms of channels.
