Angelina Jolie recently attended the premiere of Know Your Rights and Claim Them, a book authored by the Eternals actress that discusses the “inequality” and “discrimination” that children across the world experience, as well as how to overcome them with the appropriate resources.
Jolie took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the book and the numerous ways in which young people may “do the work adults should but have so far failed to accomplish.” The actress spoke about refugee camps and conflict zones, as well as the many ‘consequences’ that children endure as a result of their parents’ poor actions.
“I’m really inspired by young people all across the globe who are fighting for human rights,” Jolie said, adding that youngsters have volunteered to rescue the environment and combat various forms of discrimination placed on them.
“When children and young people have the agency, power, and knowledge to speak up, they can change the lives of both young people and adults, assisting in the creation of a more equal society,” Jolie said, emphasising the importance of providing “young activists” with the appropriate platform to carry out their initiatives on important global issues. After speaking with a number of young activists throughout the world, Jolie decided to write the book. “Many young people battling for their rights throughout the world,” she said of the book.
