Abhijeet, who is in his final year of B.Tech in Information Technology. He has broken all previous placement records with his staggering annual package. The Prayagraj native says that soft skills helped him crack the interview.
“I watched several videos to prepare myself for the interview,” he told the Times of India. He said, “Soft skills matter a lot. So engineering graduates should not think that they only need technical knowledge. Communication skills and body language are also equally important.”
Abhijeet also shared some tips for other graduates seeking placements. “To get a good job, one needs to work on certain things. Build relationships like getting in touch with seniors to know about job opportunities and getting tips from them to crack interviews,” he said.
He also advised the students to create profiles on popular employment portals which are regularly updated with every new job.
Also, this year the average salary package was Rs 26 lakh per annum. Much more than last year. According to Dr. Arun Mohan Sherry, Director, IIT-Lucknow, the highest salary package till last year was around Rs 40 lakh. “It shows that we are going in the right direction,” he said.
