Hulu users seem to be running into some pretty annoying audio playback issues for the past couple of months.

There have been several reports doing rounds on the forums saying that skipping over to the next episode of a series results in that episode playing without any sound. The issue is reproducible through auto-play as well.

Some of such complaints have been given below:

As it stands, the problem seems to be occurring on select TV shows only and doesn’t always occur. And when it does happen, users say that they have to head back and restart the entire episode to fix it.

Some users have also been experiencing crashes with the Hulu app. This happens as soon as the back button is hit when sound goes off on an episode.

Oddly, the muted sound problem is limited to the audio content of the episode alone as the network intro sound plays just fine at the start of every episode.

Nonetheless, if you are one of the users facing this frustrating issue, then you will be relieved to know that Hulu is aware of the problem and is already working on a fix.

However, an ETA wasn’t given. This means that you may have to wait a while before the bug finally vanishes for good.

For now, there is actually an easier way to get the audio working once again when it fails with a new/next episode.

Instead of pressing the back button and restarting the entire episode, you can also just rewind or fast forward a few seconds to get the audio back:
