Hulu’s Hellraiser 2022 will make its service premiere on October 7, 2022. This marks the return of the Hellraiser franchise with a brand-new Hulu Original film.
With Fresh as the year’s opener and Prey as its most recent entry, Predator, Hulu has had a fantastic year in the horror genre. It looks well for Hulu’s upcoming Hellraiser movie if the critically acclaimed latter movie is any indication of how seriously they take their reboots of horror franchises. With this one, we might be in for a genuine treat.
The best news is that Clive Barker is on board as a producer for the project, which is being billed as a “loyal, yet developed re-imagining of Clive Barker’s 1987 horror classic.” Additionally, HBO is developing a “Hellraiser” television series. The HBO series’ pilot and “several more early episodes” are being directed by David Gordon Green, Mark Verheiden (“Battlestar Galactica”) and Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat, Krampus, Godzilla: King of the Monsters) are penning the scripts. That Hellraiser project will also be executive produced by Clive Barker.
