With so many streaming services to choose from, Hulu comes across as one of the most preferred platforms as it boasts thousands of TV shows and movies.
However, that does not mean that it is immune to various bugs and issues. For instance, we recently highlighted a ‘RUNUNK13’ error code on PC and another when switching profiles.
Hulu asking to replace the password
Some users (1,2,3,4,5,6) have now been reporting an issue where Hulu is repeatedly logging them out of their accounts and forcing them to replace their passwords.
Apparently, Hulu is prompting some users to repeatedly reset their passwords but is not sending them the verification code that is required to do so.
Even when they get the code after several minutes, it eventually gets timed out. This is inevitably creating an endless loop where users try to contact support, but it keeps asking them to log in via a verification code.
Some of those affected are also considering canceling their subscriptions as it keeps throwing the following error:
Official acknowledgment
The Hulu team is already aware of the issue in question and is currently investigating. However, there are no details yet on an estimated arrival date for a fix.
Potential workaround
We have also come across a workaround that can help fix the issue where Hulu is constantly asking some users to replace the password in order to log in. You can check it out below:
Those affected can try the above-mentioned workaround until the team comes up with a permanent solution. And when they do, we’ll be updating this space accordingly so stay tuned for more.
Update 1 (November 28, 2022)
06:18 pm (IST): Here’s the official word from Hulu support where they said that in order to streamline your experience within The Walt Disney Family of Companies, they have asked viewers to reset their password:
Update 2 (December 6, 2022)
12:14 pm (IST): Hulu support has asked users to reset their password. However, if they are still being prompted to do so then they can call 1-888-907-0345 for further assistance.
Update 3 (December 19, 2022)
01:29 pm (IST): In a recent response, Hulu support said that they are asking users to match passwords across all platforms. Moreover, they’ll share the user feedback with the concerned team.
Update 4 (January 9, 2023)
12:45 pm (IST): It seems that the workaround suggested by the Hulu support team resolved the issue for a user. All they had to do was change their Disney Plus password to match their Hulu password.
Update 5 (January 16, 2023)
04:58 pm (IST): Some Hulu users are still being asked to replace their password even after resetting it several times. Meanwhile, some are getting error when trying to change password.
Update 6 (January 30, 2023)
06:40 pm (IST): Previously, users were able to fix the issue by changing their password via Disney+. And now, even Hulu support is asking users to change password via Disney+ or Hulu.
