Owned by The Walt Disney Company, Hulu is a popular streaming service that offers a huge collection of movies and TV series from various networks such as NBC, ABC, FX, and CBS along with some original content.
In the last few years, Hulu has expanded its market and as of 2021, has more than 43.8 million subscribers worldwide, thanks to their cheap and affordable plans.
And like all popular streaming services, users do encounter some technical bugs from time to time.
That being said, Hulu users are now reporting (1,2,3) an issue where the brightness is dimming automatically whenever they complete one episode and move on to the next.
Many say that the brightness level dims and stays that way for the entirety of the next episode. This is really annoying if you are binge-watching a TV series or a show.
The problem seems to be affecting users across several platforms, suggesting that the app is at play. Some say they tried reinstalling Hulu and clearing cache and data, but the issue still persists.
With some reports dating back to 2020, it looks like this is not the first time users are having this problem. Thankfully, Hulu has commented on the matter and said that they are aware of the brightness dimming issue.
But more than a month has passed since Hulu’s acknowledgment and it looks like they are yet to fix the issue. As it turns out, there are a bunch of workarounds that might help fix the glitch.
Users can either pause the show and play it again, restart the Hulu app or show or press a button on their remote to fix the brightness dimming bug.
We hope Hulu developers find out the root cause of the issue and fix it as soon as possible in the coming days so users can watch their favorite shows without interruption.
When they do, we will let you know so stay tuned. In the meantime, make sure to check out our dedicated Hulu bug tracker to see which bugs are currently affecting users.
