As per the reports, Huawei is preparing to launch its very own chipset this year. According to the rumours, the new chips are based on 14nm and 12nm processes.
As per some Weibo blogger, Huawei started the mass production of its 14nm and 12nm chips for a launch in late 2023. As per the leaks the company will be releasing these chipsets under its own name.
The Chinese tech giant isn’t new to semiconductors since its HiSilicon subsidiary has made advanced chipsets that gave tough competition to Qualcomm and MediaTek for years in the mobile devices market.
Since the company lost its primary supplier TSMC. These new chipsets are being developed and produced on process nodes that are not as advanced as current-gen mobile chips. This leak hints that Huawei is working on non-advanced design chips that will be more efficient.
The use of non-advanced processors doesn’t mean that the company has no plans to use advanced processors in future. As per the reports company will not be releasing such chipsets for mobile application processor nodes till 2024.
