Hood: Outlaws and Legends isn’t the biggest game releasing next month, but with the slow start 2021 has had, it’s certainly on the radar of many fans. While Hood: Outlaws and Legends has shown a decent sum of gameplay, there have been some major question marks about it left for those following its release. Luckily, the game has now answered some questions concerning performance on the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
In an interview with WCCFTech, Game Director Andrew Willans opened up about a few aspects of the game, including the post-launch content structure the team is targeting and a lot more. For those that have managed to nab the PS5 and Xbox Series X, Willans also shed some light on what fans can expect out of Hood: Outlaws and Legends where the game’s visuals are concerned.
While optimization, and therefore the resolution, for the game hasn’t been finalized yet, the team is targeting 60 FPS with ray-tracing on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. According to Willans, the final resolution for Hood will be revealed before launch. The game is only about a week and a half away, so that information should be revealed fairly soon.
Willans also gave a few minor details about what players on the lower-powered Xbox Series S can expect from the game. While Willans wasn’t able to give specifics, though he did state that the closest benchmark would be the Xbox One X, Microsoft’s precursor to the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles.
Ray-tracing at 60 FPS is becoming increasingly common with the new generation of consoles. One of the most recent examples is the 60 FPS ray-tracing mode in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The game made players choose between fancier graphics and better performance at launch, but was updated shortly after to support a 60 FPS ray-tracing mode. As developers become more familiar with the PS5 and Xbox Series X hardware, fans can expect both boxes to be checked more frequently.
With Hood: Outlaws and Legends releasing in just a few days, fans will be seeing what the game has to offer in no time. May has a packed release calendar, with major titles like Resident Evil Village launching during that window, so there will definitely be some competition for the game to beat. However, new games for the PS5 and Xbox Series X are still exciting this close to launch, especially with ray-tracing and 60 FPS on the table.
Hood: Outlaw and Legends releases on May 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series x.
