The device also allows users to listen to their favorite music and make voice-based search queries using Siri. However, HomePod owners have reported several issues with the Siri compatible smart speaker such as a recent issue that caused Siri to forget where the user lives when asked about the weather.
The Cupertino-based tech giant frequently releases software updates aimed at fixing existing issues. Unsurprisingly, Apple recently updated the HomePod to Software version 15.2 with voice recognition support for up to six users.
But recent reports from HomePod owners suggest that Siri commands are still slow, with Siri responding ‘That’s taking a bit too long’, ‘One sec..’, ‘On it, still working, something is taking too long here…’ etc.
This is really frustrating if you are using the HomePod to control other smart devices or want to know the time or weather. Many said they tried resetting their devices with some even deleting their entire home but to no avail.
As it turns out, HomePod users had complained that Siri commands were slow when iOS 15 was released. But it looks like Apple did not pay any attention to the issue and as a result, it still remains unaddressed in iOS 15.2
We hope Apple fixes the slow Siri commands issue on HomePods as soon as possible. When they do, we will let you know so make sure you keep checking for updates.
