Hogwarts Legacy is a long-awaited game set in the universe of the successful Harry Potter franchise. It promises to offer an amazing open-world experience as a student on the Hogwarts castle premises.
The game will be available on consoles (Xbox and PlayStation from current and previous generation, also on Nintendo Switch) and PC. Currently, the Hogwarts Legacy is in the pre-order stage.
However, some Xbox players are receiving an email about their pre-orders being canceled. Here’s all you need to know about it.
Hogwarts Legacy pre-orders canceled for some Xbox players
Multiple Xbox players have been reporting that their Hogwarts Legacy Pre-orders were canceled unexpectedly. The situation is causing a lot of confusion among affected gamers.
The cancelation message also reveals that the game’s release date will now be April 4. Initially, the game was expected to be available on February 10, 2023.
It happened to me about an hour and a half ago and I can’t figure out why. It says I still own it when I check the Microsoft store but I don’t understand what’s going on. Source
The situation is also causing concern among users of other platforms. Some also fear that the cancelation could affect the game’s availability.
Here’s what is happening
Apparently, everything is due to a delay in Xbox One version. This not only affects those who bought the Xbox version, but also the Digital Deluxe Edition for Series X/S since it includes the ‘last-gen’ version.
Some players are reporting that they never received an email to manage the pre-order before the cancelation. WB Games confirmed that this is an issue that they are aware of.
Also, according to a community mod, PlayStation users have had no problems receiving the pre-order confirmation email.
To top it off, if you are one of those affected, you just have to make a new pre-order through the Xbox Store. This will also include the Xbox One version, but with a modified availability date.
We will update this story as events unfold in the future.
