On Monday, the upcoming film Hocus Pocus 2 revealed the first look photo with their former henchman Billy Butcherson coming out of the grave which is once again played by American actor, Doug Jones.
While Billy was not included in the first teaser for the new film, Entertainment Weekly has shared the first official look at Billy, and given that he has been dead for hundreds of years, he looks almost similar to how he had last looked when he eventually turned on Winifred Sanderson, with the upcoming film set to show him as a hero more than a threat.
Hocus Pocus 2 will premiere on Disney+ on September 30th.
Regarding the return of Billy, Director Anne Fletcher told the outlet that it does something to one’s soul, it’s so surreal, it’s so mind-blowing.
The director further states that he’s in a moment of betrayal [in the scene], so you’re is looking at this beloved character in such a way who’s been hurt, and it blows your socks off and that he will never forget.
The story revolves around three young women accidentally bring back the Sanderson Sisters to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world.
