The Last of Us 2 might not be the first game many gamers think of when they hear the word glitch, especially one so ridiculous as causing a horse to take flight from the forest floor and into the great heights of the skies above. Mostly, Naughty Dog’s latest narrative-driven action game was clear of the technical issues, bugs and glitches that plague many of today’s biggest launches. A gamer needs only look back to last month at the launch of Battlefield 2042 to see how messy things can get.

Yet, this does not mean The Last of Us 2 is entirely free of the occasional bug, glitch and game-impairing problem. One player who was attempting a permadeath on the game’s Grounded difficulty sadly had their run ruined by a frustrating bug. Players have also encountered bugs which kill off major characters, and one which unfortunately caused one player to fall continuously through the floor in the downtown Seattle area. However, few glitches so far in The Last of Us 2 have been either as ridiculous or hilarious as one posted to Reddit yesterday by user u/LilTacticalOnReddit.

The video, which first shows the player appearing to ride their horse normally, then quickly devolves as the horse stops and begins to hover into the air. Then, the surrounding forest disappears to replaced by The Last of Us 2’s skybox as the horse launches itself at mach speeds into the stratosphere, leading the player stunned.

Players responded on Reddit, sharing how funny they thought the bug was, with many wondering how to replicate the bug so that their horse too can bend time and space. “When your horse decides he’s not really feeling this revenge quest,” wrote one commenter, while another said “Ellie should lay off the skooma for a while,” referencing the drug used by the NPCs of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, a Bethesda game also known for its physics-defying horses.

Though The Last of Us 2 released well over a year ago, the game is still finding new players who want to dive into the apocalyptic action title, and experience the story of Ellie as she does her best to survive the dystopia that the world has become. PlayStation continues to support The Last of Us 2 as one of its most critically-acclaimed titles, with Sony Australia going as far to release “PlayStation to Plate,” which offered meals inspired by The Last of Us 2, Uncharted 4 and other Sony exclusives.

The Last of Us 2 is available now on PS4.
