Horizon Zero Dawn was one of the most popular games that released in 2017, and fans waited five years for its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, which came out a couple of weeks ago. While many fans have been enjoying the game, one player was defeated by a Tallneck in a very funny way.
Horizon Forbidden West has a lot of different types of enemies to fight against. A lot of these enemies were first introduced in Horizon Zero Dawn, such as Tallnecks, large machines of the Communication Class that resemble giraffes.
A Reddit user, Dark_hammer98, had an interaction with a Tallneck in Horizon Forbidden West that was quite hilarious. In the video that Dark_hammer98 uploaded, Aloy had used her glider to get to a Tallneck. As Dark_hammer98 had moved Aloy to get to the other side of the Tallneck than the one they came from, they touched its leg, causing Aloy to fall down to her death as she says “That didn’t work.” The Tallneck continues to walk by as Aloy respawns, seeing the Communication Class machine once more before the video came to an end.
Tallnecks are interesting enemies in the Horizon series as, unlike other machines, they don’t actually fight Aloy. Players are simply killed by Tallnecks if they get too close to them, whether it be gliding in their direction, like Dark_hammer98 did, or by getting stepped on when in their path.
Many other Horizon Forbidden West players that have seen Dark_hammer98’s post mentioned how they had also been killed by Tallnecks when gliding towards them. Despite being a type of enemy that has no intentions of harming players, they prove to be one of Horizon Forbidden West’s greatest obstacles that some fans have to overcome.
Though it has only been out for a couple of weeks, Horizon Forbidden West players have already come across hilarious things that they did not intend to do, with Dark_hammer98’s defeat being one of many. Other funny things that fans have discovered in Horizon Forbidden West include glitches, such as when they walk down the stairs of the base, only for the floor beneath them to disappear, leaving Aloy to fall down from a great height until respawning, or how Aloy’s clothes won’t match what players had equipped in cutscenes.
Horizon Forbidden West is available on the PS4 and PS5.
