September 2022 is not only a significant month for Disney+, but also for the whole Disney organization. The annual Disney+ Day celebration will serve as a sort of prelude to the 2022 D23 Expo this month. Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and other studios are known to make a number of fresh announcements at Disney+ Day, but this time such surprises will wait until the convention later in the same week. However, that doesn’t mean subscribers who are watching the events unfold at home won’t get to see some thrilling premieres.
Thor: Love and Thunder, its making-of “Assembled” documentary, and the studio’s most recent live-action adaptation, Robert Zemeckis’ Pinocchio, will all make their streaming debuts on Disney+ Day. Cars on the Road, Pixar’s second streaming series, will be available for animation fans to watch. It will properly reunite viewers with Lightning McQueen and Mater for the first time since the release of Cars 3 in 2017. Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return will also be making its debut just in time before Andor makes its debut later in the month, so fans who are itching for more Star Wars won’t be left behind.
Cars on the Road
Cars on the Road debuts on Disney+ September 8, 2022
In Ars on the Road, Lightning McQueen and Mater on a cross-country road trip full of fond memories and unanticipated delights. The unbreakable pair will run against Mad Max-inspired diesel punk gangs and Dinosaur motor vehicle hybrids on their shockingly deadly voyage across state boundaries, as shown in the clip. Streaming Cars on the Road on Disney+ Day is ideal.
Andor
The first 3 episodes of Andor premiere on Disney+ September 21, 2022
Andor has all the makings of becoming the next big streaming success for Lucasfilm. Diego Luna will reprise his role as the fan-favorite freedom warrior from Rogue One and lead viewers through the earliest and grimiest days of the rebellion in the show, which has already been announced for a brief two-season run. In order to liven up the Disney+ brand, director Tony Gilroy wants to produce a series that is more brutally honest in how it portrays war and all of the casualties that go along with it. Andor may actually surprise viewers who are accustomed to the previous Star Wars Disney+ shows.
Hocus Pocus 2
Hocus Pocus 2 hits Disney+ on September 30.
With Hocus Pocus 2, a sequel to what is undoubtedly one of Disney’s most famous cult films that now comes almost 30 years later, the streamer is betting on the current legacy sequel mania. The release of Hocus Pocus 2 coincides with the start of the Halloween season, giving viewers plenty of time to enjoy this classic sequel before the big event.
