After a thrilling episode five that contained some big reveals, Hawkeye actor Fra Fee says the show’s finale will no doubt have a major impact moving forward in the MCU.
After a slower paced first two episodes, Hawkeye has now become one of the MCU’s most exciting projects to date. The show focuses on Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) post-blip in New York City during the Holidays, as he is forced to team up with the young archer Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) to confront old and new enemies. One of those threats includes Kazi, a mercenary for the tracksuit mafia.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Fee opened up about what fans can expect from Hawkeye’s finale, sharing that it will be a memorable one that will lead to many big changes in the MCU. “I genuinely don’t know where to begin. This is going to blow your socks off,” Free said. “The finale and by that I mean, episodes five and six, it’s all been leading to this. This epic, epic ending, which in and of itself has huge ramifications for the rest of the MCU moving forward. Yeah, you won’t be able to eat your Christmas dinner. You’ll be far too excited.”
While Kate and Clint’s story has been the main focus of the show, the introduction of other exciting characters like Maya Lopez / Echo (Alaqua Cox), who has a spin-off series in development, and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) will surely lead to exciting new stories in future MCU projects. But perhaps the most talked about character in the series thus far is Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio). This version of the character first appeared in Netflix’s Daredevil series, which is separate from the MCU.
Following his big MCU introduction, as well as other reveals such as Kate’s mother, Eleanor Bishop (Vera Farmiga), reporting to the crime lord and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil set to join the MCU, the finale will have plenty of storylines to wrap up in its estimated 50 minute runtime that will hopefully lead to one satisfying conclusion. Following other Disney Plus Marvel series like WandaVision and Loki, Hawkeye has continued the successful streak, as the show currently has a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The show has been praised for its more grounded, street-level setting, its energetic action sequences, and the chemistry between Renner and Steinfeld. With the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home this weekend, there will most likely be much more clarity on where the MCU is heading and how the new phase four characters will connect in the overall story. Hawkeye also stars Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne, Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez, Linda Cardellini as Laura Barton, and Clayton English as Grills.
Hawkeye is available to stream on Disney Plus with new episodes airing every Wednesday.
