The well-liked DC adult-animated series Harley Quinn has now been officially renewed for a fourth season, HBO Max has announced ahead of the season three finale on September 15. This news will excite viewers, especially after recent heated cancellations by HBO Max gave fans reason for concern about the show’s future.

Sarah Peters (Master of None), who will succeed Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker as showrunner and executive producer of Harley Quinn season four, will take over for them. The drama series focuses on Harley Quinn’s adventures, which started following her breakup with the Joker. The story revolves around Harley, Poison Ivy, and other ex-DC characters like King Shark, Clayface, and Doctor Psycho as they compete to join the Legion of Doom, the largest table for villains. Following Ivy’s failed marriage to Kite Man, season two ended with Harley and Ivy finally getting together.

According to the synopsis, “The mayhem and chaos resume in season three of this biting and hilarious adult animated comedy series.” As the new power couple of DC villainy, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy return to Gotham after their “Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour.” In addition to pursuing Ivy’s long-desired goal of transforming Gotham into an Eden paradise, “Harlivy” works to better themselves along with their motley crew of King Shark, Clayface, and Frank the Plant.

The voice cast includes the Joker, Lake Bell as Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk as Clayface, and Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory as the titular bad guy.
