The Halo Infinite campaign is out now, meaning fans can finally experience Master Chief’s latest adventure. Following the release of the game, the reception has been mostly positive. While this latest entry to the series retains many elements of classic Halo, it manages to include some striking new additions, such as several never-before-seen weapons. One of these original guns is the Mk50 Sidekick.
Found in Halo Infinite, the Mk50 Sidekick is a human pistol used by the UNSC. As the name suggests, the weapon works well as a secondary gun during battle. While this sidearm might not have the same power as the M6D Pistol from Combat Evolved or even the M6H Magnum from Halo 5, it still packs a punch with a 12 round magazine and rapid semi-automatic fire. Recently, one fan decided to replicate the look of this gun using a 3D printer.
In a post on Reddit, a user known as huragok_in_disguise shared a video of a recent creation based on Halo Infinite. The clip from the Reddit user showcased a real-life replica of the Mk50 Sidekick seen in the multiplayer and campaign. The prop has a striking resemblance to the in-game firearm, featuring a green and gray color palette. In addition, it contains multiple features, such as a safety switch that prevents the user from pulling the trigger and a removable magazine clip.
In addition to showing the final product, huragok_in_disguise highlighted how the gun was assembled. In the video, the creator placed all of the custom-made parts to the prop on a table. They then demonstrated the detailed process of putting all the intricate pieces together. According to the designer, creating the real-life replica was an enjoyable experience for the most part. “It was really fun to make whenever it wasn’t a pain in my butt,” they revealed.
This Mk50 Sidekick prop created by huragok_in_disguise made an impression on many members of the Halo Infinite community on Reddit. With over 1,000 upvotes in only one day, many were impressed with the level of detail on display. In addition, one fan took notice of the table in the video, realizing that it was Skyrim-themed. “Love that you noticed my little Skyrim Easter Egg,” the creator said.
It’s exciting to see fans come up with impressive creations based on the latest installment in the Halo series. Besides this stunning replica of the Mk50 Sidekick, another fan painted the Master Chief on the side of their Xbox Series X in celebration of Halo Infinite. With the campaign now released for players to purchase and play, it will be interesting to see what other creations the community comes up with in the future.
Halo Infinite is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
