Much to the delight of Halo fans everywhere, Halo Infinite’s release date is inching closer and closer. As the developers prepare for Halo Infinite’s release, some of 343 Industries’ team have taken to Twitter to give players a sneak peak into how the game is currently progressing and what to expect.

Halo Infinite, the newest of the Halo games, is due out sometime this year. 343 Industries began rolling out invitations to players to try out the Halo Infinite Multiplayer Flight Servers about two days ago, and everyone is eagerly awaiting the servers to open up. But as the new beta comes closer to be released, one of the higher-ups over at 343 Industries is asking players not to get their hopes up too high.

Brian Jarrard, the Community Director at 343 Industries, tweeted today that the development team is hard at work to ensure that the dedicated servers are up and running. He stated that “the team is working through an issue that required rebuilding/re-deploying/re-verifying dedicated servers,” ensuring that the Flight demos are as smooth as possible going into beta testing. The betas are “hopefully” going to be ready to roll out soon to players, giving them the first real glimpse at what the game will be like when completed, and perhaps even an idea of when the game’s official release might be.

In the series of tweets, Jarrard also wanted to remind players that this is a “technical test” and not a release of the game in any way. Bugs, delays, problems, crashes, and errors should be expected. He also stated that the number of players could be a massive strain on the Waypoint, as the development team is using the beta as a “scale test.” The tweets concluded with asking for patience and the hope that Halo fans would not be angry at the incompleteness of the beta; given the history of angry video game fans hoping for complete and bug-free playthroughs in betas, his fears are not completely unfounded.

But with the flighting for Halo Infinite coming soon, players can expect to start hear rumors and leaks of potential release dates, and most likely an official release date soon after that. Some sources have hinted that the game will be due out sometime in September, but this has not been confirmed by 343’s development team.
