On February 17, the Gujarat High Court Judge, Justice Nikhil Kariel passes a joke on summoning Shah Rukh Khan for the hearing of a lame complaint. He said that he would ask Shah Rukh Khan to send an apology letter to the complaint. The case is related to the publicity of a 2017 film Raees during which Shah Rukh Khan was inflicted upon charges for the reason of sudden public rush at the Baroda Railway Station.

The judge cleared that it was just a humorous comment that he made. He commented in regard to whether the court was to conduct a trial against the Raees actor. In 2017, during the promotion of Shah Rukh starrer film Raees, a stampede was forced due to the actor’s presence at the Baroda Railway Station. This resulted in chaos at the Baroda station. The stampede that was forced on January 23, 2017, resulted in the death of one person while two policemen sustained injuries. After the stampede, Jitendra Solanki, a local resident filed a complaint against the actor. Court took the case into its conscience and several IPC sections like 336 were cited against the actor.

Justice RN Singh claimed the actor for his irresponsible behaviour which led to the stampede. The latest comment of Justice Nikhil Kariel was a response to this case. The hearings have been postponed till February 24.
